Why use fixing paper?
The fixing paper is essential during steaming. It helps prevent the color from bleeding during steaming. The fixing paper absorbs the excess paint on the silk without damaging it.
How to use the fixing paper?
Take the cardboard tube and wrap your painted (and dry) silk in between layers of fixing paper. Then, tape the roll with adhesive tape.
Place the roll in the steamer and steam your work. It will permanently fix the color. Without steam fixing, your colors will rub off and bleed.
Fixing with steam is therefore essential.
When the fixation is over, let the steamer cool down then take out your silk.
One roll of fixing paper is 1 meter wide and 125m long.
We suggest you buy it by the meter (preferential price for 10 meters and above).
